Real
Madrid are looking at the option of selling the naming rights to the
Santiago Bernaebeu, as the La Liga club explores ways to generate
revenue. The Spanish giants revealed on Thursday, that Emirates will replace Bwin, as their new shirt sponsor from the 2013/2014 campaign. The deal is valued at around €125 million for five seasons.
“Emirates become Real Madrid’s new main sponsor. Two global brands and two leading organisations. This is one of the club’s most important decisions. It is an honour to link the Emirates name to Real Madrid’s because they are a perfect partner and ally.”
However, los Blancos are looking to open new streams of income and are searching for sponsors, who would buy naming rights of the stadium.
Bayern Munich (Allianz Arena), Borussia Dortmund (Signal Iduna Park), Arsenal (Emirates Stadium) and Manchester City (Etihad Stadium), are some of the European giants that have struck similar deals.
